Srinagar, Jan 15: In the realm of sports, age is often considered a mere number, and young prodigies like Ahmed Taha Masoody of Grade 5, From Srinagar J&K prove this adage true. The 12-year-old dynamo recently made waves at the Beach Games held at Daman and Diu from January 4th to 11th, 2024, In which 1200 players of 8 games participated from all over the country. where he was the youngest player of the tournament and clinched a gold medal with highest score of the event in the challenging discipline of Pencak Silat Martial Art. This remarkable achievement adds to Ahmed’s growing list of accolades, solidifying his status as a rising star in the world of martial arts.
       Ahmed Taha Masoody’s journey in the world of Pencak Silat began at a tender age, driven by an innate passion for the martial arts. His dedication, coupled with unwavering support from his family, laid the foundation for a remarkable career that has left spectators in awe.
           The Beach Games at Daman and Diu witnessed a display of skill, determination, and sportsmanship from young athletes across various disciplines. Among them, Ahmed Taha Masoody’s stellar performance in Pencak Silat stood out. Despite his age, Ahmed showcased a level of proficiency and finesse that belied his years, earning him the coveted gold medal.
             The recent gold medal at the beach games in Daman and Diu is a testament to Ahmed’s growth as a martial artist. Competing against top talents from across INDIA, he showcased exceptional technique,discipline and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.Over the last four years, he has amassed a total of 25 medals, a testament to his consistent excellence in Pencak Silat. Among these, an astounding 20 are gold medals, symbolizing his dominance in the field. Additionally, he has secured 2 silver medals and 3 bronze medals, underscoring the breadth of his achievements.
       Behind every successful athlete is a rigorous training regimen and a robust support system, and Ahmed Taha Masoody is no exception. His daily routine includes hours of practice, focused drills, and physical conditioning to enhance his skills and stamina. Moreover, the unwavering support from his family, coaches, and peers plays a crucial role in Ahmed’s success.
               Ahmed Taha Masoody’s success is not measured in the number of medals he has earned but also in the invaluable lessons he has learned through his journey in Pencak Silat. Martial arts instil qualities such as discipline, focus, resilience and respect-qualities that have undoubtedly played a crucial role in shaping Ahmed’s character.
                    As he stands at the cusp of adolescence, Ahmed dreams of representing India on the grandest of them all- the Olympics. His eyes are set on the future,fueled by the passion and determination that have propelled him to this point in his young career. The prospect of competing against the best athletes from around the world is a dream that Ahmed Taha Masoody holds close to his heart.
             Ahmed’ parents and his coach Mohd Iqbal Coach Indian Pencak Silat Federation have been pillars of support , recognizing his potential from an early age and providing the necessary encouragement and resources to nurture his talent. Their belief in Ahmed’s ability has undoubtedly played a crucial role in his success.
               The young Martial Artist’s journey is an inspiration not only to aspiring athletes in Daman and Diu but also to young minds across the nation. Ahmed Taha Masoody serves as a beacon of hope, providing that age is not a limitation when it comes to pursuing one’s dreams with dedication and passion.
             As Ahmed continues to hone his skills and accumulate accolades, the entire nation eagerly anticipates the day when he will proudly don the Indian colors at the Olympic Games.
