CUK’s SLS holds prog on cracking judicial service examination

Ganderbal, April 30: Department of Law, School of Legal Studies (SLS), Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), organised an interactive programme with the successful candidates of J&K Civil Services (J) Examination 2023 on the theme “J&K Civil Services Judicial Examination: Opportunities and Challenges” for the students at Tulmulla campus here Monday.
The event featured recent qualifiers of the J&K judicial service, who delved into the intricate aspects of the examination, aiming to provide practical knowledge about the judicial examination to the students.
In his address, Dean SLS, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, underscored the importance of such programmes and the significance of judicial service examinations. He emphasized that such initiatives serve as invaluable platforms for students to gain theoretical knowledge and grasp the practical intricacies and challenges inherent in pursuing a career in the judiciary.
Resource persons including Ms Nahida Mufti, Ms Aarizoo Javaid Rather, Mr Mansoor Ahmad Mir, and Ms Rameen Rashid, who qualified the recently held examination, shared insights into the exam strategies, challenges, and other aspects. They highlighted the importance of reading, emphasising that a deep understanding of legal statutes is foundational for success in the examination and, more importantly, in the practical application of law.
They also shed light on the evolving trends in the examination, noting that the landscape of legal assessments is continuously growing. They further emphasised the need for aspirants to stay abreast of these changes, adapting their preparation strategies accordingly to remain competitive in an ever-changing environment.
The event was convened by Mr Bilal Ahmad Ganai, Assistant Prof., the question-answer session was conducted by Ms. Kinjal Bagdi, Assistant Prof and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Hilal Ahmad Najar, Academic Coordinator and Assistant Prof. Mr. Shahid Ahmad Dar, President of The Law Society, conducted the proceedings.
