Jammu, Jan 19: A five-day Civil Defence basic training program concluded Sunday at Government Higher Secondary School, Muthi, Jammu. The program commenced under the supervision of Deputy SP Anita Pawar, Deputy Controller, Civil Defence Jammu.
The training, attended by 155 male and female students, focused on essential life-saving techniques. Civil Defence experts provided knowledge on first aid, fire prevention and management, handling snake bites, choking emergencies, and disaster preparedness during natural and man-made calamities.
A live demonstration on first aid, fire-fighting techniques, and improvised rescue methods during road accidents was also conducted, showcasing practical applications of the training. Kiran Sharma, Principal of the school, lauded the program, highlighting its importance in equipping students with critical survival skills. Asia Banoo (Vice Principal), Vijay Magotra (Deputy Chief Warden, Civil Defence Jammu), Romesh (Post Warden, CD Jammu), Ram Dayal Saini (In-charge CD Trainings), and other staff members were present during the event.
