Budgam, Sep 21: The students and local residents of Chewdara village in the Beerwah tehsil have requested the Block Development Office Rathsun to provide RCC Cement pipes in front of the school gate to prevent drainage water from entering the school premises.
The students from the Government High School Chewdara told the Rising Kashmir that the current drainage system which flows in front of the main school gate, with only have small iron pipes installed. This allows students to enter the school without inconvenience.
“When these pipes get blocked, the drainage water and waste particles enter the school premises, causing significant inconvenience for both students and teachers,” Students said.
The locals of the village said there are two schools functioning in the same location, they share a single gate. During rainfall, when the pipes get blocked, the drainage water directly enters the school premises, leading to waterlogging in front of the school gate. This poses a major issue for students and teachers.
“We have also approached many times to the concerned officials of the Block Development Office Rathsun. no action has been taken to address the issue,” locals said.
The locals urge the Block Development Office Rathsun to take necessary steps to resolve this problem, ensuring that school-going children do not face any further difficulties.
An official from the Block Development Office Rathsun has assured that immediate action will be taken to resolve this issue.
