Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday said that they have busted a burglars gang by arresting three persons and recovered stolen property worth lacs within 2 days in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A Police spokesperson said that on 20-09-2023 a written complaint was received by Police Station Magam from owner of MB traders to the effect that during intervening night of 19/20-09-2023, some thieves have barged into his office at Agrikalan Magam and stole cigarette cartons worth Rs 5 lakh rupees.
“On this report, case FIR.No. 144/2023 U/S 457,380/IPC was registered at PS Magam* and investigation taken up. During the course of investigation, strenuous efforts were made and many suspects with past criminal records from different areas and outside District Budgam were put to questioning”, he said.
The spokesperson said that during sustained questioning, three suspects namely Mohd Yaseen Hajam @ Cobra S/o Ghulam Mustafa Hajam R/o Trikolbal Pattan, Javid Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh R/o Churpora Narbal and Muzaffar Ahmad Dar S/O Ghulam Mohd Dar R/O Reshipora Hanjivera Pattan admitted their involvement in the theft and accordingly all the stolen goods were recovered on their disclosure. The accused have been arrested in the instant case and further investigation into the case is going on.
