Srinagar, May 04: Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has voiced serious concern over the sharp and abrupt decline in tourist arrivals in the valley following the recent tragic terror attack in Pahalgam. He said many small business owners associated with the tourism industry are facing a grim situation and are unable to pay their EMIs, and he urged banks to extend relief measures to those affected.
He wrote on his X handle, “The taxi owners and some other stakeholders affiliated with the tourism industry are facing a grim situation due to the sudden and sharp decline in tourist arrivals after the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam.”
Bukhari further said, “Many of these small business owners had taken loans from banks to set up their businesses, hoping for earnings and a better livelihood. But now, their dreams have been shattered. They are not even able to pay their EMIs.”
“I request the bank authorities to explore potential solutions and ways to provide some relief to these individuals during these difficult times. They are in desperate need of support and handholding in these challenging circumstances,” the Apni Party chief added.
