Budha Amarnath Yatra : First batch of devotees warmly welcomed by local Muslims

Mandi, July 29:  In a remarkable demonstration of communal harmony and age-old hospitality, the first batch of Budha Amarnath Yatra pilgrims arrived today in Mandi, a tehsil in Poonch district, where they were greeted with exceptional warmth and reverence. The pilgrims, who came from various states across India, were welcomed by locals with flower showers, slogans of peace and unity, and a spirit of true brotherhood.As the yatra convoy reached near the Mandi headquarters, residents, social activists, religious leaders, and local administration officials gathered in large numbers to receive the pilgrims. The atmosphere was charged with emotion and celebration, sending across a powerful message of national integration and interfaith solidarity.The highlight of the day came when the pilgrims, after the grand reception, proceeded to the revered Budha Amarnath Chattani Mandir, nestled in the rocky terrains of the Pir Panjal range. Despite the tough terrain and the humid weather, the devotees enthusiastically performed “darshan” and rituals at the temple, immersing themselves in spiritual devotion amidst tight security arrangements.Local Muslim community members emphasized that Budha Amarnath Mandir is not only a sacred Hindu shrine but also a symbol of peace, shared heritage, and communal brotherhood. “We take pride in welcoming pilgrims every year. The yatra is a living example of what India stands for—unity in diversity,” said one community elder.Pilgrims expressed heartfelt gratitude for the extraordinary hospitality and affection they received. “We came here for a spiritual journey but experienced something much deeper—human connection, unity, and respect that transcends religious boundaries,” said a pilgrim from Maharashtra.
