Jammu, May 11: The Sub Division Hospital in Jagti organized a blood donation camp, where 16 pints of blood were generously donated by volunteers. The Directorate of Health Services, Jammu, provided a special blood van for this noble cause.
Among the Kashmiri Pandit migrant youths who donated blood were Shobin Bhat, Naveen Bhat, Akshay Koul, Ashish Bhat, Sandeep Pandita, and others.
In recognition of their contribution, awards were conferred upon volunteers who donated more than 10-15 pints of blood during the camp. The event was organized by the newly launched social organization ’24×7 Emergency’ under the supervision of social activists Sunil Pandita and Ashwani Bhat.
The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Dr Arvind Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner for Migrants Jammu, and was attended by several distinguished guests including CMO Kathua, Dr Vijay Raina, DC Relief Vijay Kumar Sharma, and others.
The initiative taken by the Kashmiri Pandit migrant relief holders to serve the civil society in the hour of need was highly appreciated by all present at the occasion.
Sunil Pandita and Ashwani Bhat, the chief organizers, urged the UT administration to support such noble causes that serve humanity without any discrimination based on caste, creed, religion, or colour.
They underscored the importance of maintaining humanity, spreading peace, and promoting love in society, and called on the government to extend all possible help to organizations committed to serving society.
