Block Diwas program held in Baramulla

Baramulla, June 14: To listen to the issues and grievances of people at their door steps, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar Wednesday visited Panchayat Hewan Narwav Block and chaired weekly Block Diwas Camp, listening to various issues and demands of people meant for the overall welfare and development of the area.
Different stakeholders including PRIs, Officers of all line departments among other prominent citizens of Malpora, Kalaiban, Khudpora, Fatehgarh, Sheeri besides other adjoining areas of Narwav Block participated in the programme.
During the Grievance Redressal Camp, various Public delegations and scores of individuals projected various developmental issues before the DC and sought the timely resolution of their grievances and demands.
On the occasion, the people put forth several demands including establishment of road from Sheeri to Babareshi, augmentation of health institutions besides sanctioning of Primary Health Centre for the area and providing of Digital X-ray plant for the hospital.
Repairs of power lines, macadamization, widening and renovation of inner links and construction of toilet points at Echo parks were also among the major demands projected by the members of PRIs.
After giving a patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC assured that the District Administration will provide active support for development of the area and also assured them that all their issues and demands shall be taken with the concerned authorities for their timely redressal.
She directed the concerned authorities to resolve the issue of irrigation besides exhorted upon the concerned for establishment of sheep rearing units for employment generation.
Meanwhile, the DC resolved various grievances of immediate nature and said that the administration is keen to streamline public service delivery and added that other developmental works are being identified and subsequently approved for their execution.
Likewise weekly Block Divas camps were also organized at all sub division levels of Baramulla district where the concerned sub divisional heads presided the functions and heard their issues and grievances of the people.
