Udhampur, Sept 17: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ranbir Singh Pathania outlined his vision for a prosperous Udhampur East during his election campaign on Tuesday.
Pathania, according to his statement, addressed various locations, including Kali Mata Mandir Mand, Gole Tikri, Dhanori and Sounthan.
The meetings saw enthusiastic participation from residents, who showed strong support for Pathania’s agenda and represented a wide demographic eager to hear about the future roadmap he presented, the statement added.
During his address, Pathania highlighted key components of the BJP’s election manifesto focused on education, welfare and economic development. One of the standout initiatives is the provision of tablets or laptops for students in remote areas, designed to bridge the digital divide and promote quality education. The college students will benefit from a Rs 3,000 yearly travel allowance under the Pragati Shiksha Yojana, he said.
Addressing security concerns, Pathania said the BJP is committed to uprooting terrorism and holding those responsible accountable. The safety and security remain party’s top priorities, he said.
He said the BJP plans to provide two free cylinders per year under the Ujjwala scheme for women, as well as an annual financial assistance of Rs 18,000 to the eldest women in families.
“Economic growth will be propelled through the development of modern tourist destinations, which is seen as vital for infrastructure improvement and local employment opportunities,” he said. He assured residents of relief from outstanding electricity and water bills, alongside free electricity for families under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
The BJP spokesperson pledged to triple pensions for the elderly, widows and disabled individuals from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 to “ensure a dignified life for these vulnerable groups”.
He announced newly outlined measures to support farmers, including raising the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi payout and reducing electricity tariffs by up to 50% for agricultural activities.
To improve rural connectivity and transportation infrastructure, the ‘Har Tunnel Tez Pahal’ Yojana will introduce new rural roads, Pathania said, adding, “I am committed to turning Udhampur East into a model constituency for development and welfare. With the support of the people, we will implement these transformative policies that uphold the BJP’s vision for a thriving and secure community.”
