Jammu, Apr 06: Extending his greetings to the people of the country on the Foundation Day of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), its Executive Member J&K, Raman Suri on Saturday said that being the largest political party in the country, it is relentlessly working for the welfare of the people by all means.
“Other than the works done after coming to power in 2014 and then in 2019 under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP workers have always been serving the country on the ground, be it in times of pandemic, floods, earthquakes or any other natural calamity,” Suri said.
He added, “From winning two seats in 1984, the party today has the largest representation in the Parliament of India as well as several state legislatures. This all could become possible with the able leadership of party chief J P Nadda at the central level and all other party chiefs, in-charge leaders, and workers, who are consistently working to make India a mighty nation and to strengthen its democratic values at all levels.”
Describing humanism as the official ideology of the BJP, Suri said the party advocates a foreign policy centred on nationalist principles. “Since 2014, the BJP government has enacted several laws on priority including criminalising the practice of triple talaq, abrogating Article 370 of the Indian constitution, and implementing uniform laws. The party’s symbol Lotus is culturally significant and is regarded as a symbol of peace and prosperity,” he said.
With its sincere efforts, BJP reached a number of 303 in the Lok Sabha as part of NDA, and ever since Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister of India, its presence has grown tremendously, he said. “Since then, the BJP has effectively made its presence felt in Assam, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir, where the party’s influence has increased manifold. It has also formed governments in several of these states and intends to sweep the 2024 elections with 400+ numbers in the Lok Sabha.”
The BJP leader said it was only the Modi administration which could dare to revoke the special status of J&K, introduce the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 and now, intends to implement the Uniform Civil Code. “It was the power of the people that enabled the BJP government to end terrorism from Kashmir and also teach Pakistan a lesson by striking its terror camps. For BJP and Modi, national security is the top priority,” he added.
Opposed to dynastic rule, the BJP is a people’s party and anyone from any state can become its president and worker irrespective of caste, creed, religion, or region. That is the beauty of this party, which is growing every day, Raman Suri asserted.
