Jammu, Feb 18: Undeterred by the possibility of rain, the BJP is pulling out all the stops to ensure a grand success for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming rally in Jammu on February 20th. Anticipating inclement weather, top-quality waterproof sheds (“pandaals”) and other arrangements are being put in place at the MAM Stadium to accommodate over 1 lakh people.
Teams from Punjab and Gujarat have been tasked with ensuring the stadium is completely waterproof, while 70,000 chairs are being arranged for seating within the ground. Additionally, the stairs surrounding the stadium, with a capacity of 25,000, have also been covered with waterproof shelters.
“With these arrangements, we are confident that PM Modi’s rally will be the biggest ever held in J&K,” declared Vikram Randhawa, former MLC and Incharge of the rally. He added that robust drainage systems are also in place to prevent any waterlogging.
Security remains a top priority, with National Security Guards (NSG) and Special Protection Group (SPG) taking control of the MAM Stadium and its surroundings. Thorough vehicle checks are being conducted at all entry and exit points of Jammu city.
This meticulously planned rally underscores the BJP’s aim to make a strong statement in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Whether rain or shine, it seems the party is determined to draw a massive crowd for PM Modi’s address.
