Kathua, Mar 28: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Jasrota, Rajiv Jasrotia on Friday strongly condemned Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, he said Pakistan is frustrated with the development initiatives undertaken by Prime Minister Modi in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the growing number of separatists joining the mainstream.
“BJP has been vocal about his concerns regarding Pakistan’s involvement in terrorism but opposition political parties every now and then advocate talks with Pakistan,” he said.
Jasrotia paid heartfelt tributes to the martyred soldiers who lost their lives in the Kathua encounter. He acknowledged the nation’s eternal debt to these brave-hearts for their supreme sacrifices in the line of duty, protecting Mother India. “Their sacrifice will not be forgotten, and the nation will continue to honour their memory,” he said.
Meanwhile, the BJP leader demanded Pakistan be declared a rogue nation, citing its sponsorship of terrorism in Kathua and other regions. He made this demand in response to Pakistan’s continued support of militant groups and its alleged involvement in terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. He also demanded economic sanctions, diplomatic isolation and potential military action against Pakistan.
Jasrotia strongly condemned those advocating for talks with Pakistan, especially in light of the recent encounter in Kathua and criticised those suggesting dialogue with Pakistan.
“Talks and terror cannot go hand in hand,” he said, adding that Pakistan’s support for terrorism is incompatible with diplomatic dialogue.
“Pakistan must take concrete steps to address India’s concerns about terrorism before any dialogue can take place,” he said. “Pakistan must choose between pursuing a path of diplomacy and cooperation or continuing to support terrorist activities.”
