Jammu, Sept 07: “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been rattled” by the Congress-National Conference alliance ahead of the upcoming assembly elections,” Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla said on Saturday.
Speaking at a meeting with Sarpanchs and Panchs in RS Pura town, he said, “The BJP is visibly shaken and resorting to smear tactics against the INDIA alliance, fearing a decisive defeat at the hands of the people. Since the formation of the alliance, the party has been in a state of panic. Their house is in complete disarray. Instead of engaging in a meaningful debate on their poor governance record, they are attempting to sow confusion and fear among the electorate. But their tactics won’t work.”
Bhalla criticised the BJP for attempting to paint the INDIA alliance in a negative light. This alliance is a people’s movement representing hope, unity and progress, he said.
The Congress leader attacked the BJP for its “failures” in governance in Jammu & Kashmir. “There have been inflation, unemployment and recruitment scams,” he said. “In ten years of BJP governance, what have they delivered to the people? Farmers have protested against anti-farmer policies, inflation is at an all-time high, crimes against women are on the rise, youth are jobless, and recruitment processes are mired in scandals.”
Bhalla said Congress has made “pro-people” promises in its manifesto, while the BJP’s manifesto is “empty rhetoric”. He stated the INDIA alliance is the only group with the capacity and commitment to address the pressing issues in Jammu & Kashmir and restore stability to the region.
He urged the people of J&K to support the alliance in the forthcoming assembly elections. “We are confident that the alliance would form the next government in J&K and would address the genuine concerns of the people,” he said.
The JKPCC leader also accused the government of neglecting the remote areas. “There is a widespread dissatisfaction with the current administration, which has failed to address these issues,” he claimed.
Bhalla also highlighted the Congress’s achievements during its previous tenure in J&K and said the party is committed to development and stability in the region.
