Jammu, Oct5:The BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) has called a crucial core group meeting on October 7, where top leaders, including Ram Madhav and TarunChugh, will finalise the party’s strategy for government formation in Jammu and Kashmir.
This high-stakes meeting, set to take place at BJP’s Trikuta Nagar headquarters in Jammu at 3 PM, comes in the wake of exit polls indicating that the BJP might need to seek support from independents and smaller Kashmir-based parties to form the next government.
Party sources revealed that Ram Madhav, Co-Incharge for the J&K Assembly elections, has already been engaging in talks with potential independent winners and smaller parties as part of BJP’s ‘Plan B.’ The plan is aimed at securing a coalition in case the party falls short of a majority. These discussions, initiated before the release of the exit polls, are expected to continue and intensify following the October 7 meeting.
