Chandigarh, Jun 05: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary, Tarun Chugh on Thursday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal of attempting to make a backdoor entry into the Rajya Sabha through Punjab. He said Kejriwal, by doing so, is reducing Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to a “mere puppet” of his Delhi team.
“Kejriwal, who is currently out on bail for his alleged involvement in corruption cases in Delhi, is deceiving the people of Punjab just as Manish Sisodia had done,” Chugh said in a statement issued here.
He added, “It is unfortunate that Punjab has been turned into a personal fiefdom (jagir) of Kejriwal. The people of the state have been misled into accepting leaders with alleged criminal backgrounds, effectively turning Punjab into a puppet state after Kejriwal and his team lost credibility in Delhi.”
The BJP leader also strongly objected to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s alleged attempts to undermine the role of security forces in the successful execution of Operation Sindoor.
“The AAP government has effectively mortgaged Punjab to Kejriwal’s team — a deeply alarming development for the state,” Chugh said.
