JAMMU, Feb 22: In a remarkable display of commitment to service and valor in adverse conditions, the Indian Army has once again emerged as a beacon of hope by rescuing students and staff members of Rajasthan University who were stranded amidst heavy snowstorms and landslides on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Banihal.
The Law College students and staff from Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur (Rajasthan), found themselves stranded in the midst of a heavy snowstorm and landslides at Banihal on February 21.
According to Defence PRO Suneel Bratwal, numerous commuters were stranded along NH-44 due to heavy snowstorms and snowfall at Banihal, necessitating immediate assistance.
Responding swiftly to the emergency, the Indian Army launched a rescue operation, swiftly evacuating the stranded students and staff from the Law College of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur (Rajasthan).
In a commendable effort, the Army successfully rescued 07 staff members and 74 students who were trapped amidst the heavy snowstorms and landslides on the National Highway at Banihal.
Expressing gratitude to the Indian Army for their prompt response, Dr. Kalpesh Nikawat, Principal of the Law College of Rajasthan University, hailed the Army’s dedication and valor in serving the nation and its citizens. He lauded their unwavering commitment to facing any challenge with utmost readiness and bravery.
