Devsar (Kulgam), Aug 24: Apni Party leader and Devsar candidate Reyaz Ahmad Bhat on Saturday expressed confidence that the party will win the upcoming assembly elections on its “own strength”, describing the contest as a “Solo vs Squad” fight.
Bhat said the party is working hard at the grassroots level and on the ground. “We will be in the field solo; the squad will not be with us, and this will be a solo vs. squad fight. Others can decide what to do, but our party will show that we have the strength; we will fight the election on our own,” he said.
Reyaz said the Apni Party is working “honestly”. “You must have seen that there is a fight for mandates in every party. Prominent figures are leaving many parties. Have you ever seen a person living in a hut, or an orphan child, being trusted by a regional or national party and given a mandate to represent them? But our party did it. Party gave a mandate to a young person from a poor family against a big leader in Devsar,” he said.
Under the leadership of Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari, it was said that whoever works hard, whether they are small, big, poor, or rich, will not be oppressed but will get their rights, he said. “When I got that right, today I am proud to say that Altaf Bukhari is leading with honesty, distributing mandates fairly, and not judging by personality.”.
Bhat said the upcoming contest in Devsar will be exciting and competitive. “It will be an equal fight in Devsar, which is a good thing,” he said.
“As much as they form alliances, it might benefit us too. I would say that instead of dividing the vote among two or three parties, all these parties should form an alliance and let’s have a good contest in the elections,” he added.
