Jammu, Jan 11: Apni Party Senior Vice President, Jammu, Ghulam Hassan Mir on Thursday said that the party has become the voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mir was addressing a meeting of South Constituency of Jammu, organized by Provincial President, Women Wing, Jammu, Pavneet Kour. Provincial President, Jammu and former minister, S Manjit Singh among others were also present on the occasion.
In his address, Mir said, “The Apni Party is against wrong policies of the Govt which are against the people, especially women and youth. To oppose such policies, we came out to protest such decisions to resolve those decisions that had impacted the life of the people.”
He recalled the issues faced by the people in Jammu and the Apni Party leaders came out to raise the public issues in the region by becoming the voice of the people.
Appreciating the Apni Party leadership in Jammu, he said that the Party should expand its roots to the remaining areas and increase the public outreach programs. “The Apni Party leaders and workers should speak to the people and educate them about the policy and agenda of the party, besides discussing public issues and learning about their problems so that a policy can be framed according to the wishes of the people,” he added.
Ghulam Hassan Mir said that the party always stands for the cause of the people by becoming the representative of the people.
Referring to the ending of Panchayats, Municipalities and BDCs tenures in J&K, he said the people have been left to the mercy of bureaucracy. He appealed for the restoration of the democratic system so that the public issues can be resolved.
“Apni Party wants equitable development, employment, and protection of resources for the local population,” he said. He urged the party workers including women’s wing to hold a series of meetings with the people and inform them about the policy of the party and schemes that would be implemented if the Apni Party formed the government.
He asked the Party cadre to intensify their public contact program at every nook and corner, especially in the wake of scheduled Parliamentary elections.
Meanwhile, Manjit Singh also referred to the welfare schemes of the Apni Party that would be implemented if the party formed the government.
He elaborated on the welfare schemes including old age pension/window schemes will be enhanced up to Rs 5,000, and commitment to providing four cooking gas cylinders to each poor family per year free of cost under Ujjawal, enhancement of the marriage assistance scheme for the poor girls up to Rs 1 lakh and its instant release. Pavneet Kour also spoke on the occasion.
