Leh, Dec 19: In response to growing complaints of encroachment and illegal parking in and around the Choglamsar-Zampaa area, District Police Leh and Traffic Police Ladakh, in collaboration with the District administration Thursday started a two-day joint traffic drive.
The initiative is aimed to address concerns raised by the public, streamline traffic movement and ensure the safety and convenience of commuters and local shopkeepers. During the drive, several encroached spots were removed and dedicated parking spaces for shopkeepers and customers were demarcated.
The drive was jointly spearheaded by SSP Leh Shruti Arora and SSP Traffic Sonam Deachen with the support from Additional SP Leh Rigzen Sangdup. Key stakeholders, including Executive Officer MC Leh Stanzin Rabgais representatives from the Merchants Union and Taxi Union, SHO Leh and incharge Police Post Choglamsar were also actively involved in the operation.
This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of District Police Leh and Traffic Police Ladakh to maintain public order and ensuring that local businesses and commuters experience a safer and more organized environment.
