Srinagar, Feb 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday constituted the Union Territory Level Task Force and City Level Task Force(s), for the implementation of 24×7 water supply projects under the AMRUT 2.0.
As per the GAD order, sanction has been accorded to the constitution of UT Level Task Force and City Level Task Force(s), for continuous interaction with the National Task Force (NTF) for planning, design, and implementation of 24×7 water supply projects under the AMRUT 2.0.
Union Territory Level Task Force
The committee will be headed by Chairman Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Kashmir. The member includes the Chief Engineer, UEED, Superintending Engineers, Hydraulic from concerned districts, Professor of Environmental Engineering from IIT Jammu/ NIT Srinagar, GIS Expert from Department of Ecology & Remote Sensing, PPP Expert (Sh. Faizan Malik) from SSCLSCADA/ Automation Expert (Sh. Shafkat) from SSCLNLCO (NG0) related to conservation.
The committee shall:
Assess the number of AMRUT cities in the UT and monitor cities that shall be implementing 24×7 water supply projects and regularly interact with National Task Force
Support cities in establishing a City-level Task Force (CTF) on 24x7water supply system and extend handholding support
Organize regional-wise meetings inviting all the City Engineers for AMRUT cities for handholding and dissemination of knowledge on 24×7 water supply
Emphasize on the immediate goals and need for implementation of 24×7 Water Supply in AMRUT Cities, in at least one ward or one DMA or District Metering Areas with 2000 households as envisaged under AMRUT 2.0.
City Level Task Forces
The committee will be headed by Superintending Engineer Jal Shakti in the Concerned district. The Members include Executive Engineer Jal Shakti from the Concerned divisions in each district, Senior Geologist from Ground Water Department, Faculty Member from Environmental Engineering from IIT Jammu/NIT Srinagar.
A GIS Expert from the Department of Ecology & Remote Sensing, a Concerned Executive Engineer from PDD/MED from the concerned districts, PPP Expert at the city level have to be designated by the concerned DDCs, and NGOs at the city level to be designated by the concerned DDCS, Technical Officer to the concerned SE, Jal Shakti (Secretary and coordinator), the order states.
The committee will organize the training for engineers and their staff working in the city regarding 24×7 water supply by explaining how to implement 24×7 Water Supply in at least one ward or one DMA or District Metering Area with 2,000 households, it says, adding that the committee shall implement Model RFP by inviting tender for appointing Consultant for the city who will do major works/activities required for preparation of the DPR for executing the 24×7 water supply project.
