Srinagar, Jun 26: A delegation from the Awami Itehad Party (AIP), led by State Secretary Sheikh Ashiq, along with members of civil society and representatives from various minority Sikh associations across districts, visited the family of S. Surjit Singh in Tral to offer condolences. The family was mourning the loss of Surjit Singh, who was found hanged in a nearby area.
Sheikh Ashiq assured the family of the party’s unwavering support. “We stand with the bereaved family and share their pain and sorrow,” he said.
The delegation expressed solidarity, prayed for the departed soul’s peace, and called for justice. The members also met with police officials, urging for an expedited and thorough investigation to ensure justice for Surjit Singh and his family.
