Srinagar, May 19: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) delegation, led by senior party leader and DDC Shopian Raja Waheed, concluded its extensive visit to the border districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
During the tour, the delegation visited numerous villages affected by recent cross-border shelling, directly engaging with the affected families and inspecting damaged houses and infrastructure.
The delegation comprised Abrar Rashid, son of jailed Member of Parliament (MP) Baramulla, Er Rashid, senior AIP leaders Ajaz Yousuf, Lone Sajad, District Coordinator of Pulwama Ajaz Thakur, and Mirza Liyaqat. They visited the worst-hit areas, interacting with residents to understand their concerns, offering condolences to bereaved families, and expressing solidarity with those whose homes suffered damage.
Raja Waheed, while concluding the visit, said, “This tour was essential to understand the ground realities faced by the border residents. The impact of cross-border shelling on human lives and property is devastating. AIP stands firmly with the affected families and will continue to advocate for their rights and safety.”
