Handwara, Dec 13 : GMC Handwara Tightens Healthcare Norms for Better Patient Care.

In a bid to revolutionize healthcare services, GMC Handwara has introduced strict measures to ensure accountability, discipline, and round-the-clock availability of medical professionals at the Associated District Hospital.

The Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara has issued directive aimed at enhancing the healthcare delivery system at the Associated District Hospital. The orders, issued by the Principal of GMC Handwara, highlights strict adherence to duties and responsibilities by all medical professionals and staff.

As per the order, all senior residents, specialist medical officers, and medical officers across various departments are required to remain present in the designated casualty section of the hospital (Room No. 103) during duty hours. They are prohibited from leaving the premises without prior permission from the Medical Superintendent of the Associated District Hospital, GMC Handwara.

Additionally, assistant professors, consultants, and other on-call doctors have been instructed to refrain from engaging in private clinical or hospital duties during their official assignments. This measure is expected to improve the availability of medical professionals for patients.

To ensure accountability, all senior residents, junior residents, medical officers, and paramedical staff on night duty must record their attendance through the Aadhaar-enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) at 1:00 a.m. daily. The attendance data will be monitored by the concerned nodal officer, and any failure to comply will result in the concerned individual being marked absent from duty.

Furthermore, assistant professors and consultants on call duty are instructed to remain within the hospital premises during their shifts. They are also required to conduct evening rounds after 8:00 p.m. and morning rounds before 9:00 a.m. to ensure comprehensive patient care.

The Principal of GMC Handwara has called for strict implementation of these measures to uphold the standards of medical care in the institution.
