Chandigarh, Oct 06: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Friday slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), labelling it as the most corrupt political party.
In a statement, Chugh reiterated the Modi government’s commitment to holding accountable anyone involved in corrupt practices, saying no one, regardless of their stature, would be exempt from the law.
Commenting on the Delhi liquor scam, the BJP leader criticised the Kejriwal government for causing significant revenue losses to Delhi worth crores of rupees. He said thorough investigations into the matter would be conducted in accordance with the law of the land.
Chugh highlighted the questionable alterations made by the Delhi government, under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, to the excise policy, which he said “eventually turned into a major scandal for the nation’s capital”.
He pointed out that the impact of the Delhi liquor scam briefly extended into Punjab but was thwarted by the vigilance of the state’s residents.
“The scale of this scam is unprecedented in our nation’s history,” Chugh said, adding that it must serve as a lesson for political leaders trying to play “double games” in the name of people’s welfare.
