Srinagar, June 07: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary and In-Charge Jammu and Kashmir, Tarun Chug on Wednesday said the elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held soon. He also said that the Union Territory will no longer operate based on the “agenda of separatism” as it follows the agenda of faith and development set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chug further mentioned that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is diligently carrying out its responsibilities and will soon announce elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to the media persons, Chug emphasized the existence of democracy in the country and highlighted the J&K people’s belief in the process.
He said, “Abdullah, Mufti and Gandhi families have undermined democracy in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in a loss of faith in the democratic process among the people.”
He also pointed out that since the revocation of Article 370, DDC elections, BDC elections, and Panchayat elections have taken place in Jammu and Kashmir, saying thousands of delegates have been elected, including 280 DDCs.
