Srinagar, Apr 30: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, as part of its SKUAST-K Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship centre, organised a one-day workshop in collaboration with FIIT, IIT Delhi on “Incubators’ Role in Fostering Innovation” on Tuesday at the main campus here.
The workshop aimed to sensitise and mentor young faculty members towards the realms of innovation and startups, the university said in a press release issued here.
The event was chaired by Haroon R Naik, Director Planning & Monitoring and Director Research, SKUAST-K, along with Dr Ashutosh Pastor, Senior Manager and Head Incubation at FIIT, IIT Delhi, Mr Dewansh Poddar, Program Manager at FIIT, IIT Delhi, Dr Azmat A Khan, OSD to VC SKUAST K and Naveed Hamid, CEO SKIIE Centre SKUAST-K.
During the inaugural ceremony, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between FIIT, IIT Delhi and SKUAST-K Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship Centre to promote innovation, incubation, and startups and to bridge the gap between the two incubators for the benefit of young innovators in both regions.
Experts discussed topics such as the ecosystem of Innovation and Incubation in India, Effective Grant writing techniques, funding opportunities, scientific writing, pre-feasibility analysis, and team building. This collaboration aims to create a conducive environment for innovation and offer professional growth opportunities for faculty, researchers, and students through joint programs, workshops, and training sessions.
Later, a young Kashmiri innovator, Mr Jawaad Khan, Founder of Tadpole Projects Pvt Ltd, shared his entrepreneurial journey, highlighting how he overcame challenges and established himself in the corporate sector. He, along with Dr Ashutosh, engaged in brainstorming sessions with the participants, fostering an environment of collaboration and learning.
