Anantnag, Apr 19: As many as 25 candidates have filed their nominations for the Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary seat at the office of the Returning Officer (RO) in the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Anantnag.
Syed Fakhrudin Hamid, RO of the Anantnag-Rajouri parliament constituency, told Rising Kashmir that on the last date of the filing of nominations, as many as 28 nominations were received, of which three candidates filed twice.
He said that a total of 25 candidates have filed nominations, which will undergo scrutiny on Saturday (April 20) at the Returning Officer’s office, and the valid nomination details will be shared with the press thereafter.
“April 22 is the last date for the withdrawal of candidature, and April 23rd is scheduled for the allotment of symbols. As far as arrangements are concerned, the training component of civil and police administration is in coordination,” he said.
Syed Fakhrudin said that for logistics support, including warehouse, strong rooms, transport plan, and enforcement of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) – Flying Surveillance Teams (FSTs) and Static Surveillance Teams (SSTs) are working as per guidelines.
The RO urged voters to cast their votes in huge numbers on the polling day of May 7th in the Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary constituency, which is a constitutional right and responsibility.
