In the ongoing battle against drug trafficking, the Bandipora Police, under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police Lakshay Vinod Sharma, IPS, has made significant strides during the first quarter of 2024, registering a staggering 23 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Officials said that a total of 28 drug peddlers were apprehended, and contraband substances valued at 17.05 Lacs were seized from the possession of the accused drug peddlers.

They highlighted a major effort against the drug peddling network across the district, especially in Sumbal, Ajas, Bandipora main, and other areas.

“All police officers in the district are under clear-cut directions from SSP Bandipora, Lakshay Vinod Sharma, who has emphasized strict action against drug peddlers to dismantle the drug peddling network in the district,” they said.

Meanwhile, locals have praised the Bandipora Police, applauding their dedication and proactive approach in combating drug-related crimes. (KNS)
