Educational institutions celebrate Gandhi Jayanti at Town Hall Doda

Doda, Oct 02: The Government Educational institutions in and around Doda town on Sunday celebrated Gandhi Jayanti at Town Hall Doda. A colourful programme was held wherein rich tributes were paid to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
Mesmerising and heart touching Speeches, Skits, Nataks, Poems and Songs, highlighting life and Gandhian Philosophy/ Principles such as World Peace, Social Justice, Non-Violence, Truthfulness and Purity of mind and Soul were the main activities of the programme. Government Girls Higher Secondary School Doda, Government Boys Higher Secondary School Doda and other schools of the town participated in the activities.
District Development Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan chaired the function and administered Swachhta Pledge to the audience.
SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, President MC Doda Ved Prakash Gupta, Incharge CEO Parshotam Kumar, DSWO Doda Tariq Qazi, DEPO Doda, Ayaz Mughal, DIO DIPR, Principal Boys HSS Doda, teachers, and students of various Schools participated in the programme.
 SSP Doda, while speaking during the program, highlighted the need for adoption of Gandhian Principles in today’s society and said that a peaceful progressive nation requires Gandhian ideology. He also spoke on the ongoing NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan and Swach Gaon Sundar Gaon initiative of the administration.
The DDC Doda applauded the efforts of the education department in organising such a fantastic programme on Gandhi Jayanti. He appealed to the audience of inculcating Mahatma’s Philosophy in their daily life to bring in peace in their inner self and in the society. He said that non adherence to the rules, intolerance, taking drugs and use of illegitimate are some of the forms of violence and need to be replaced by Gandhian non violent behaviour.
He urged the audience to understand the depredation of drugs menace and play their vital role in getting this menace escaped by our young generation. He desired innovative ideas and initiatives from the students and the youth for making their district number one in cleanliness, drugs free, and in prosperity.
He also spoke on the importance of Swachhta and participated in the Swachhta rally along with Municipal staff and other officers.
The programme was organised under the supervision of Chief Education Officer Doda and hosted by Master Om Parkash.
