Kargil, Jan 25: A team of doctors in District hospital Kargil of Union Territory of Ladakh successfully conducted an emergency neurosurgical procedure.

Dr Mohd Abass, Consultant Surgeon said that an elderly male patient of 65-years-old with RT Sided Paralysis, CT scan showing Lt Sided large brain Heamotoma was admitted to Emergency at District Hospital Kargil.
Seeing the seriousness of the case as well as the non-availability of feasible transportation successful operation was conducted in emergency by Neuro Surgical Procedure (a lifesaving surgery which is rarely done at peripheral hospital like district hospitals.
Dr Abass said that they were in consultation with Neuro Surgeons at SKIMS Soura and the patient showed positive response immediately after the surgery and is walking without support on next day of surgery .
He further said that the team of General Surgeons and Anesthetists at District Hospital Kargil are capable of dealing with all kind of surgical emergencies especially during winter when Kargil remains cut-off from rest of the country.
Dr Haji Ali Medical Superintendent district hospital Kargil said that the hospital is fully equipped with latest equipment in all sections.
