All India Civil Services Tournament: Nadeem, Naseer guide J&K to emphatic victory over Punjab

Mohali, Mar 15: Overpowering Rajput Bisht’s excellence, brilliant Nadeem Dar and explosive Naseer guided Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services team led by G Prasanna Ramaswamy, Secretary Transport, to an emphatic win over Punjab Civil Services team in the ongoing All India Civil Services Cricket Tournament (Men) 2022-23, here on Wednesday.
 
Chasing a big total of 173 runs set by Punjab, J&K rode on a brilliant display with the willow by the duo of Nadeem Dar and Naseer to surpass the big target in 18 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the by 7 wickets. Naseer scored power-packed 57 off 30 balls, studded with 4 fours and 5 sixes, while Nadeem contributed quick-fire 49 off 31 balls with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes. Opener Aamir Ashraf contributed valuable 32 runs off 26 balls including 4 fours and one six, while Akhil Slathia and Samiullah Beigh chipped in with unbeaten 17 and 16 runs respectively.
For Punjab, Akashdeep, Dheeraj Gogia and Harpreet Atwal claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, atting first, Punjab scored a big total of 173 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Rajput Bisht top scored with 60 runs off 37 balls, studded with 7 fours and 2 sixes, while Arshdeep Singh and Raman Meelu contributed 26 runs each.
For J&K, left-arm spinner Abhinav Khajuria and Nadeem Dar claimed 2 wickets each.
Principal Secretary Jal Shakti Department, ShaleenKabra encouraged the team by bestowing special tips, while former First Class cricketer Vijay Sharma is accompanying the team as Player Cum Coach.
