Srinagar, June 14: Legal action is being taken against a departmental store in Srinagar for allegedly selling sub-standard baby milk. Concerns were raised when it was discovered that the store had been distributing adulterated milk for infants, resulting in the health deterioration of a baby.
The Srinagar Police made the announcement through their official Twitter account, stating that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the Sadar Police Station with the FIR number 48/23. The sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) under which the case has been filed include 273, 274, 275, 276, and 420. The investigation into the matter has already commenced.
The residents of Srinagar have shown their support for the police’s swift action against the departmental store involved in selling compromised baby milk. They are now calling for regular inspections and stringent checks on establishments that deal in essential commodities to ensure the quality and safety of products sold to consumers, especially those intended for infants.
