Srinagar, Apr 27: The Jammu and Kashmir Chess Association held its elections at the Sheri-Kashmir Indoor Sports Stadium in Srinagar. The elections were conducted by the J&K Sports Council under the supervision of Musbat Ismail, Deputy Legal Remembrancer of the council.
The newly elected office bearers for the association are as follows: Baldev Raj as the President, Arshid Ahmad Kolu as the General Secretary, Mohammad Farooq Dhar as the Senior Vice President, Atul Kumar Gupta as the Working President, Khalid Amin Gojwari as the Senior Joint Secretary, Rakesh Sadotra as the Joint Secretary (J), Kuljeet Singh Jamwal as the Vice President (J), Shabnum Kounsar as the Vice President (K), Abdul Rashid Wani as the Financial Advisor, Parminder Kumar as the Organizing Secretary (J), Irshad Ahmad Mir as the Organizing Secretary (K), Arvindu as the Coordinator (J), Ankush Kumar as the Press Secretary, and Comrade Parvez Sajad as the Treasurer.
The elections were conducted smoothly and without any untoward incidents. The newly elected office bearers have expressed their commitment to promote and develop the game of chess in the state.
