Ganderbal, Feb 06: The authorities on Monday launched intensive anti-encroachment drive in Wussan area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district under the supervision of Sub Divisional Magistrate Kangan, Javid Ahmad Rather.
During the drive, the revenue authorities retrieved 38 kanals and 8 Malras of encroached state and Kahcharai land from influential persons including a businessman and few top government officers.
Most of the retrieved land in estate Wussan has been handed over to the Horticulture Department for development of orchards.
It is pertinent to mention that approximately 18702 kanals of illegally occupied government land has been retrieved by the Revenue department in the district till date.
With regard to ongoing anti-encroachment drives undertaken in Ganderbal district, it has been assured by the District Administration that common masses and poor people will not be touched.
