Mendhar, June 20: Senior National Conference leader and former legislator Javed Rana said a deputation of residents of village Chhungan called on him on Tuesday and highlighted the problems being confronted by the people.
“At the outset of the meeting, the deputation members highlighted various issues of the people including poor quality work of blacktopping of roads, delay in the start of construction of roads, dilapidated condition of local Health Sub Centre building as construction is still incomplete despite the release of lakhs of rupees and the staff is forced to work from a shed,” Rana said in a statement.
He said the deputation complained that Panchayat Ghar work is also pending and the furniture and other items belonging to Panchayat have been kept in rented accommodation, despite the completion of the construction of the Agriculture store. “They said the building is not yet handed over to the department as the same is locked and unused till date, and above all the work on the model village has not seen the light of the day,” he said.
“The deputation members urged the senior NC leader to take up all the issues before the concerned authorities for an early redressal as people are suffering a lot due to the apathetic approach of concerned officials,” the statement said. “After giving a patient hearing to the deputation members Rana appreciated their approach of becoming self-reliant in resolving their issues and also commended the newly elected committee meant for the aforesaid purpose.”
Rana said all the issues of the people of Chhungan village are genuine and therefore he will try his best to resolve the same on priority. The NC leader said he will project all these issues to the concerned quarters to ensure early resolution so that people get a sigh of relief. He, however, sought a united approach to resolving these issues.
