Civilian hurt in Anantnag terrorist attack

Srinagar, Feb 25: A civilian was shot at and injured by terrorists on Friday evening in the Hassanpora area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.
The terrorists managed to escape after a brief firing. However, a joint reinforcement of police, army, and paramilitary forces was sent to the village to trace the terrorists.
A senior police officer told Rising Kashmir that that preliminary investigation revealed that terrorists had fired upon a civilian namely Asif Ganai son of slain Head Constable Ali Mohd Ganai. He was fired outside Mosque in the HasanporaTavela area of Bijbehara Anantnag, he said.
“The injured was immediately evacuated to hospital for the treatment of his injuries. He is out of danger and a search operation has been launched in the area,” he said.
Meanwhile, Police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. Senior police officers along with reinforcement reached the terror crime spot. The investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime, he said.
In a tweet, Police Spokesman said, Terrorists, fired upon & injured one Asif Ganai S/O Martyr Head Constable Ali Mohd Ganai outside a Mosque in HasanporaTavela area of BijbeharaAnantnag. He was immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment. The area was cordoned off. Further details shall follow.”
