Jammu, June 23: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday said more than a dozen ministers in the BJP government at the Centre are selected and not elected due to which they are “loyal and accountable to the PMO and not the masses”.
“It may sound strange and funny that the Central government and its council of ministers, who rule the roost, have no public mandate as more than one dozen ministers holding the most important and key portfolios are not elected to Lok Sabha but have been selected in Rajya Sabha by the ruling dispensation, particularly PMO,” the AAP Jammu said in a statement issued here.
The party’s senior leaders Ram Singh Chauhan, Kuldeep Kumar Rao, Jagdish Raj Chopra, S. Ranjodh Singh, Sukhdev Kumar Sangral and Sandeep Parihar, in a joint statement, said, “It is under these circumstances that the Central government is not sensitive towards farmers, unemployed educated youths, women, workers, and housewives who feel the brunt of price rise, and the common man is struggling for two times meals.”
“Handing over key portfolios to Rajya Sabha MPs as ministers is the biggest joke to the democracy where people don’t get the ministers whom they elected and which is why they are loyal to only one man and not the masses,” the leaders said.
Referring to long drawn agitation of women wrestlers at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, the AAP leaders expressed astonishment over the government’s “autocratic style of working”.
They added, “The usual drama and Jumla Baazi of distributing of 71,000 and 75,000 appointment letters by PM so far at a time of elections in four states will certainly catch no straw. The farmers, womenfolk and unemployed educated youths cannot be befooled anymore now.”
“Wish countrymen read the writing on the wall and see through the game as early as possible otherwise they are busy in their dirty game of victimization, harassment, propaganda of lies, falsehood, defamation character assassination and whatnot just to divert the attention of masses for their electoral gains in the coming elections in four states and 2024 election,” they said.
