Budgam: Fozia Zehra, a seventh-grade student from Imam Public High School in Ichgam village in the Budgam district of, has achieved the second position nationwide in the Dettol Hygiene Olympiad.
Zehra, a resident of Ichgam village, is the first student from the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory to excel in the examinations.
While taking with the Rising Kashmir, Fozia Zehra said that the Dettol Hygiene Olympiad conducted the exams in our school on September 16th last month. I secured the first position in Jammu and Kashmir and the second position at the national level.
“A few days ago, our school principal received a phone call from the Dettol Hygiene Olympiad, informing us that I had secured the second position in the examinations,” Zehra said.
She further mentioned that I, along with my school teacher, visited Mumbai, where I received a cheque of INR 35,000, a medal, and a certificate from the company.
“The Dettol Hygiene Olympiad also provided me and my teacher with air tickets, accommodation, and food. I did not have to spend any money to visit there. Everything was provided by the Dettol Hygiene Olympiad company,” Zehra added.
Zehra expressed her surprise at the significance of this examination after participating in it. As a schoolgirl, this achievement holds great importance for me at this stage of my life.
Mudasir Rashid, the school principal, stated that this is the first time the Dettol Olympiad has conducted exams in the Jammu and Kashmir. The students from our school also participated, and Zehra secured the top position in Jammu and Kashmir. She is the first student from Jammu and Kashmir to achieve the second position at the national level.
