Budgam, Oct 21: For the beautification of Budgam district various development projects are going in full swing.
Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo told Rising Kashmir that for the beautification of Budgam, a selfie point has been constructed at Humhama.
“As part of this initiative, 1,600 street lights will be installed across the town. Display boards with messages such as “I Love Budgam,” “Welcome to Budgam,” and “Hashtag Budgam” are being placed throughout the town, with most of them already completed,” DC Budgam said.
He mentioned that the beautification of the old bus stand includes the installation of an aesthetic fountain and the creation of a beautification park. Ornamental plantations are being carried out along the road connecting the railway station in Budgam.
Other development projects include the construction of parks at Hakinpora, Dubdether, and Wadipora, the completion of a clock tower at New Bus Adda Budgam, and the upgradation and beautification of the new bus adda. Drainage work on the Humhama Budgam road has also been completed, and the walls of Budgam will be painted. Aesthetic street lights will be installed throughout the town.
Labroo emphasized that the beautification of Budgam town was a demand from the general public, and work has already begun on the ground level. Some of the projects are nearing completion, enhancing the beauty of the town.
