Ganderbal, Feb 21:- After days of heavy snowfall on the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, authorities have successfully cleared snow from the Sonmarg road. The Herculean efforts led by the authorities and the Border Roads Organization, have paid off while the road is now accessible. However, the region faced further challenges when a heavy avalanche struck the Sonmarg area, further obstructing transportation routes.
The avalanche, triggered by the heavy snowfall, prompted immediate action from authorities. Workers, alongside heavy machinery, were deployed to tackle the aftermath of the natural disaster. Despite the formidable task, the combined efforts of workers and machinery have resulted in the removal of the avalanche, clearing the way for restoration efforts.
Official sources revealed that the avalanche removal process was arduous but successful. With the avalanche cleared, authorities are now focusing on reopening the road for traffic. It is anticipated that traffic will resume tomorrow morning, providing relief to commuters and residents alike.
