Reasi District Volleyball Championship semifinals set after intense matches

Reasi, Mar 10: Reasi District witnessed a fervent display of athleticism as the Volleyball Championship kicked off at the General Zorawar Singh Stadium. Inaugurated by Additional SP Reasi, Iftikhar Ahmed Qureshi, the championship saw 12 teams from various corners of the district vying for the prestigious title.
Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, Mr. Qureshi commended the organizers for promoting sports as a means to engage youth constructively, urging them to steer clear of detrimental influences like drug abuse. He encouraged the young participants to capitalize on available opportunities for their holistic development, emphasizing sports as a pathway to a promising career.
The championship, organized by the Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council and district administration, witnessed a thrilling lineup of matches on its opening day. Notable figures from the volleyball fraternity, including Mr. Yash Paul, a local icon with national representation, graced the occasion.
Throughout the day, eight intense matches unfolded, showcasing the prowess of the participating teams. Among the standout encounters, Arnas Club secured a victory against Vijaypur Club, while Bakal Club clinched a hard-fought win over Kangali Club. Mamma Club, exhibiting resilience, triumphed over Bahmag Club in a closely contested match.
As the tournament progresses, anticipation surges for the semifinals, set to feature Arnas Volleyball Club versus Bakal Volleyball Club and Mamma Volleyball Club against Sajroo Volleyball Club. The finals, slated for March 11th, promise an exhilarating showdown as teams compete for the coveted championship title.
