Srinagar, Aug 13: The 79 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today organised a Tiranga Rally in Srinagar as part of the run-up to Independence Day celebrations.A statement issued here said that the rally commenced at 7:30 am from Amar Singh Club, Sonwar, and passed through RK Crossing, Aziz Bridge, Diamond Crossing, and Gupkar Road. A total of 75 officers and personnel of the unit, under the command of Sanjay Kumar, Commandant, 79 Bn, took part. They were joined by personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police (PS RM Bagh), the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and local residents from Sonwar. The aim of the Tiranga Yatra was to foster a sense of patriotism, unity, and respect for the national flag among citizens—particularly in the lead-up to Independence Day—and to honour the sacrifices of security personnel while promoting national integration in the region. The event formed part of the broader Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, which encourages citizens to hoist the Indian flag at their homes and workplaces, symbolising both personal and collective commitment to nation-building and national pride. Meanwhile, in pursuance with the Govt of India as well as DIG (Adm) Directorate CRPF, Har Ghar Tiranga rally was organised in which all officers and jawans of 61 Bn CRPF participated in the events. As per the statement, further a Tiranga rally was also organised at Blooming Buds Kinder Garden GMS School Shivpora, Srinagar and surrounding areas along with all the children and teachers. Officers and jawans gave the message of nationalism, brotherhood and national unity.
