Budgam, Aug 06: Regional-cum-Facilitation Centre (RCFC), Northern Region-II, SKUAST-K Wadura, in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Budgam, successfully organised a training-cum-awareness programme aimed at promoting the conservation, cultivation, and utilization of medicinal plants.According to a statement issued here, the programme was held at KVK Budgam and witnessed enthusiastic participation of about 60 farmers and rural youth.Scientists from SKUAST-K and officials from the Forest department delivered detailed lectures on the importance of medicinal plants in sustainable agriculture, their economic potential, and best practices for their cultivation and conservation.Prof. & Head, KVK Budgam, Dr. Bilal Ahmad Lone emphasised the significance of medicinal plants in enhancing farmers income, preserving indigenous knowledge systems, and supporting ecological sustainability. He encouraged farmers to adopt medicinal plant cultivation as a supplementary enterprise and assured them of continuous technical support and guidance from KVK.
