Carrom Championship 2025–26 Kicks Off with Enthusiastic Participation in Sgr

Srinagar, July 29: The District Srinagar Carrom Championship 2025–26 was officially inaugurated Tuesday by Salman Ali Sagar, MLA Hazratbal, at the Carrom Hall, Bakshi Stadium Srinagar. The opening ceremony drew an enthusiastic crowd and was graced by key dignitaries and office bearers from the carrom fraternity.A statement issued here said that present on the occasion were Mushtaq Zargar, Manager Bakshi Stadium, Adil Rashid Shah, President J&K Carrom Association and District Srinagar Carrom Association, Arif Sultan Khan, Treasurer and Dawar Rashid Gadyari, Assistant Secretary of the J&K Carrom Association. Players, officials and carrom lovers from across the district also attended the vibrant ceremony. Sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, the two-day championship has drawn over 110 players competing in Cadet, Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior categories — in both male and female divisions. Day one featured around 80 thrilling matches, marked by exceptional skill, precision, and fair play, reflecting the growing popularity and competitive spirit of the game in the region. Organised by the District Srinagar Carrom Association under the aegis of the J&K Carrom Association, the tournament aims to nurture talent and provide a professional platform for budding carrom players.
