Kishtwar, July 10: In a considerate gesture to ease the hardship of grieving families, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma Thursday disbursed a total of Rs. 4.5 lakh as compensation under the J&K Road Accident Victim Fund, based on the cases submitted by ARTO Kishtwar, Tasleem Wani.A statement issued here said that an amount of Rs. 1 lakh each was disbursed to the legal heirs of four deceased victims of road accidents and Rs 50,000 to a grievously injured patient. This government initiative aims to extend support to those affected by such tragic incidents and underscores its ongoing commitment to assist bereaved families. The families who received compensation included Methuan Kumar son of Bansi Lal Thakur resident of Hakoo Pallali Paddar, Anjan Kumar son of Bodh Raj resident of Pallali Paddar,Mohd Yaseen Bhawani son of Mohd Azim resident of Sigdi Bhatta, Mohd Akbar son of Amer Malik resident of Passarkot, Chatroo and Manjeet Kumar’s son of Krishan Chand resident of Sarthalm, Kishtwar. This distribution marks an essential step in providing financial assistance and acknowledging the distress faced by the families of road accident victims.
