Srinagar, June 05: The campaign, run by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Budgam in coordination with Agriculture and allied Departments in the District is part of the nationwide movement of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare aimed at empowering farmers by providing them access to scientific knowledge, government schemes and a voice in shaping future agri-innovations. Taking the mission forward, the KVK team has reached more than 150 villages to take the awareness campaign forward to more than 7700 farmers of the District so far. Former sarpanchs pledged full cooperation and urged the farmers to adopt modern techniques for better productivity and resilience.
The farmers have been participating in interactive discussions on high yielding varieties of SKUAST-K, Packaging of Practices of different crops for ensuing kharif season, soil testing,
Promotion of natural/organic farming, promotion of HD apple, animal health management. The participants also learnt about various central and state-sponsored agriculture and allied sector schemes designed for the upliftment of farmers.
As Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan continues to gain momentum, it reinforces the nation’s commitment in cultivating a resilient, inclusive, and forward-looking agricultural landscape—empowering every village along the way.
