Budgam, May 24: In a spirited celebration of youth sports, the Department of Youth Services and Sports Budgam successfully conducted Inter-Zone District Level Chess and Table Tennis Competitions for Under-19 boys and girls. The events were held at the Indoor Stadium Budgam and Boys Higher Secondary School Budgam, drawing enthusiastic participation from all twelve zones of the district.
The young participants showcased commendable strategic prowess in chess and remarkable agility in table tennis, impressing officials and spectators alike with their discipline, focus, and sportsmanship.
At the closing ceremony, senior officials presented trophies and words of encouragement to the winning teams and standout performers, applauding their competitive spirit and dedication. The officials underscored the value of such events in fostering mental sharpness and teamwork among students. While the district-level competitions were in full swing, zonal-level inter-school sports matches were simultaneously held across the twelve zones to identify top talent for future inter-district tournaments, thereby broadening the competitive base.
In-charge Sports Activities, Shakeel-ur-Rehman Lone, and Ghulam Hassan Khanday were present at the occasion.
