Srinagar, Apr 04: In Jammu and Kashmir, 100 percent Public Health Facilities have been registered on Health Facility Registry (HFR) as part of the digital initiatives, the Economic Survey report 2024-25 of the Jammu and Kashmir Government has said.
The J&K health department is embracing digital transformation to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality through various initiatives.
“E-Sanjeevani facilitates telemedicine consultations across specialties, crucial for remote areas like J&K, more than 9.5 lakhs consultations conducted,” the report said.
J&K is also expanding tele-health services including Tele-Medicine, Tele-ICU, Tele-Radiology, Tele-X-Ray and Tele-CT Scan capabilities across its health institutions.
It said that the Drug and Vaccine Distribution Management System (DVDMS) manages online drug and vaccine distribution, while the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission digitizes health records for improved healthcare delivery.
“So far, 90.84 lakh ABHA health IDs have been created, with 79 lakh health records linked to the platform. Additionally, 100% of Public Health Facilities are registered on the Health Facility Registry (HFR), while 84% of doctors and 86% of nurses are enrolled in the Healthcare Professional Registry (HPR),” the report said.
“The initiative has also facilitated the generation of over 60 lakh QR-based digital health tokens, improving efficiency in patient management.”
Digital platforms enable efficient delivery of Government-to-Citizen and Government-to-Business services and underscore J&K’s commitment to advancing healthcare, fostering socio-economic development and ensuring a healthier future for its residents.
Looking ahead, J&K’s health department aims to achieve universal health coverage by 2030, focusing on child health milestones, disease reduction strategies, and ending epidemics.
“The strategic roadmap includes strengthening primary healthcare systems, improving medical education, and exploring public-private partnerships to ensure comprehensive and quality healthcare for all residents,” the report said.
The Economic Survey report said J&K implemented universal health insurance coverage under AB-PMJAY and PMJAY-SEHAT, targeting 100 percent family registration and issuance of approximately 86.12 lakh golden cards.
“This initiative has facilitated treatments worth Rs 2800 crore, benefiting more than 15 lakh individuals since its inception.”
The report said J&K has made strides in medical education with sanctioning of 394 DNB seats, ensuring equitable health service distribution across challenging terrains and remote areas.
The government report said the region’s ambulance services have been bolstered with 489 geo-tagged ambulances, including 139 Advance Life Support (ALS), 64 Basic Life Support, and 286 regular ambulances, integrated with online 108/ 102 ambulatory services.
These efforts have enabled quick response times (average response time less than half an hour) and served more than 4.30 lakh beneficiaries since August 2020.
Similarly, in TB elimination, J&K received prestigious accolades at the One World TB Summit 2023, including a Bronze Medal for achieving over 20 percent reduction in TB incidence compared to 2015.
It further said district-level successes include Pulwama, Anantnag achieving TB-free status with over 80 percent reduction, whereas Budgam already declared TB-free.
“District Srinagar received Gold Medal for over 60 percent reduction, while Jammu and Kathua districts were recognized with Bronze Medals,” the report said.
