Political leaders greet people on Shab-e-Qadar, Jumat-ul-Vida

Srinagar, Mar 27: Political leaders across Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday extended greetings to the people on the sacred occasions of Shab-e-Qadr and Jumat-ul-Vida.
National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah in a message said, “The holy night of Laylatul Qadr provides us an opportunity to pray for Almighty’s blessings and strive for being compassionate, pious and dutiful.”
He also extended warm greetings to people on the eve of Jumat-ul-Vida, hoping the month-long fasting and penance is accepted by Almighty Allah.
Among others, General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Addl GS Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Advisor to HCM Nasir Aslam Wani, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Provincial President Showkat Mir, MPs Mian Altaf Ahmad, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi have also extended warm greetings to people on the auspicious occasions.
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti has extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Qadr, urging them to pray for peace, prosperity, and communal harmony.
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti highlighted the spiritual significance of the Shab-e-Qadr. She called upon people to seek forgiveness, blessings and divine mercy during this sacred occasion.
“Shab-e-Qadr is a night of immense blessings. Let us pray for peace, brotherhood, and the well-being of all. May this Shab-e-Qadr bring prosperity and harmony to Jammu and Kashmir and strengthen the bonds of unity,” Mufti said.
Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari in his message of felicitation said, “These revered occasions hold great religious and historical significance and are a blessing for us. Shab-e-Qadr is the night of forgiveness, and on this sacred night, Almighty Allah chose to reveal the Holy Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for the guidance of mankind. This blessed night offers us a precious opportunity to seek Allah’s forgiveness and to embrace His boundless mercy, blessings, and generosity.”
He added, “Jumat-ul-Vida holds profound significance and immense spiritual importance for Muslims worldwide, as it is one of the holiest days and serves as a heartfelt farewell to Ramadan—a month of deep reflection, devotion, and fasting.”
Extending his heartfelt greetings to the people, especially the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “On these sacred occasions, I extend my warmest wishes to the people, particularly the Muslim community of Jammu and Kashmir. I also urge worshipers and devotees to pray for the communal harmony, enduring peace, and prosperity for the people of J&K.”
Apni Party President called upon the concerned authorities to ensure the smooth availability of basic facilities, including transportation, electricity, first aid, and water supply, for the devotees throughout the night of prayers on Shab-e-Qadr.
People’s Democratic Front (PDF) President Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen in his message emphasised the immense spiritual significance of this blessed night, which is believed to be the night of divine mercy and forgiveness. He urged people to dedicate the occasion to sincere prayers, seeking peace, stability, and prosperity for Jammu and Kashmir.
“Shab-e-Qadr is a night of divine blessings, a time for deep introspection and supplication. Let us collectively pray for an end to suffering, for peace to prevail, and for harmony to be restored in our beloved Kashmir,” he said.
The former minister called upon the people to uphold the values of compassion, brotherhood, and unity, especially in these challenging times. He expressed hope that the prayers of this sacred night would bring solace to those in distress and usher in a future of progress and tranquility for the region. “May this blessed night illuminate our hearts with faith, strengthen our resolve for unity, and bring lasting peace to Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
G M Shaheen, the State President of Janata Dal (United) Jammu & Kashmir, prayed for the well-being, prosperity and peace of all.“Shab-e-Qadr, also known as the Night of Power, is believed to be the night when the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SAW). It holds great spiritual significance, as prayers offered on this night are considered more rewarding than those of a thousand months,” he said in his message.
Shaheen urged people to engage in prayers, recite the Holy Quran, and seek forgiveness from Allah. “This sacred night is a time for reflection, unity and devotion,” the JDU leader said.
